I've seen better. Oh and by the way, i've seen no proof of anyone going to MIT or Stanford in the last DECADE, but the school put it on the list for some reason. Yes, this is my school.

For a second, I thought that students went to all these different schools from a single class.

As to your question, I'm not sure. If the school lists universities to where it hasn't sent students to in over a decade, I can't be sure about the validity of the list. I mean, it sure LOOKS impressive, doesn't it? How big are the class sizes?

Where are Harvard, Yale and Princeton? ;)

You read my mind Midwest Mom

No bigger than 190 (private school that's not worth the $$$)

I see Stanford, Dartmouth, and University of Pennsylvania on there. Just because HYP(e) isn't on the list doesn't make it a bad school at all.

What I would look into is how many students are going to out of state versus in-state schools, especially first and upper second tier schools. It looks to me like your school is in California. How many graduates are accepted into state schools? Are there one or two "feeder schools" 9/10 of the students go to? You could have a few students applying to top places with everyone else going to a local state school.

A much better indicator of the school's performance would be the average ACT/SAT and GPAs of exiting seniors. How far above average is this? How does it compare to the top schools in your state (Great Schools - Public and Private School Ratings, Reviews and Parent Community has average test scores for schools).

Finally, check to see if there is a discrepancy between GPA and standardized test scores. If students are leaving with high GPAs and low test scores, then something is obviously wrong.

And the school is La Salle, isn't it?

Impressive for sheer volume of different colleges. Even UC Merced is represented.

A good way to look at a school's prestige/rigor is to look at where the bottom of the class goes.

^At most public schools the bottom of the class has nothing to do with the rigor of the school.

Not if u go to a school with 2500+.

And the list is decent...missing too many top schools but still respectable.
