So, for my personal essay, I wrote about how my culture teaches me to protect and respect the women in my life e.g. mother, sister. Then I went on to explain how my Uncle once insulted my mother in like a massive way (the story takes up 200/500 words). I went on to write on how angry I was at first, thinking about what I would have done in that situation, then I came to realize the repercussions of my actions had I reacted in a foul manner. My conclusion ends on how sometimes the worst situations in life can be the most character building for us.

However, I heard somewhere that you shouldn't write about a dysfunctional family moment. So could anyone give me their opinion on this essay topic?
