Intro to CS, problem solving and object oriented programming - 4 credit hours
Gen chem - 4 credit hours
physics, mechanics - 4
calc 2 - 5
2 seminars worth 1 credit hour each

That's 19 credit hours. Is that too much coming in as a freshman to take? I should, however, know most of the material for chemistry already, know a little for physics, know half or most for CS, and know nothing about calc 2. I'm a math and science person, especially math, so I would like this schedule a ton, but I'm just not sure if it's too much.

btw, if you are wondering if I should be taking GenEd classes, I got most of those out of the way through APs and taking college classes in high school.

If it’s a schedule of classes that you already know a lot about and are sure to enjoy, then no, it’s not too much, although it may get overwhelming, trying to balance it with a social life.

Those are some weird credit hours.

You are gonna be really busy, I hope you know that.

And you say you’re a math and science person but the “GenEds” I would consider being taking with APs are still there. What AP and college classes did you take in HS? English?

Just going off of Umich:
-Calc 2 is a weed out course
-Physics Mech can be hard without any past AP experience
-Chem isn’t that bad, but the HW can be time consuming, same with the labs
-Your programming class won’t be that hard concept wise, but the programs will be time consuming

Yeah, physics mechanics is the one im most worried about. How hard is it for someone who is good at math, but doesnt have much experience with physics?

Well, how good at math are you? I mean you didn’t get a 5 on ur AP calc test (I’m guessing if you’re starting in calc 2). Physics does not have that hard of calc in it anyway though (not the intro stuff at least). If you have little experience in physics then it could get a little tricky. And with all of your other classes IDK if you’ll have enough time to put into it if you want a good grade.

We only have ap calc ab offered at my school. Thats why im starting in calc 2. I may actually decide to take another class instead of physics.

I think that would be a smart idea
