Is this an acceptable optional photo?

I made this "creative" submission for another college, and was thinking it could perhaps work for the optional photograph for Columbia.

http://img332.imageshack.us/my.php?image=collage6ob.jpg

Is it acceptable? or does it give off the "I'm trying too hard" vibe?

*FYI- the collage was of some of my favorite things, lol

*FYI2- I am posting this in Columbia's forum too--sorry--I need fast answers (ekk!)

Hate to say it, but yes. Just the photo is fine, love.

you do want the officers to take a good look at you...i just used my school yearbook photo for one of my apps. O_O

I just don't think that these photos should be doctored in any way.

from the Woodlands?

I loved it! I can clearly see you and it's very creative. Go for it. You have nothing to lose and may just stand out from the thousands of yearbook pics of kids leaning against a tree.

Sorry to horn in on your thread, but how did you guys manage to make your picture files less than 250 KB? Mine is 1400 KB, and I just cropped it and slapped it onto Word.

i think thats really cool and that you should go for it!

or does it give off the "I'm trying too hard" vibe?

I think it does. but too late now.

(almost completely off-topic) the curious incident of the dog in the night-time <--I love that book!

mine was doctored AND didn't give a clear view of my head, ugh..

I think it does. but too late now.-munkeegirl

Is it? Columbia's deadline is for tonight! I still have time! (right? :/)

What do you think COLUMBIA would think, about this collage? (I don't want to hurt my chances, lol) Would they like my "candid" photo? or this "doctored" one? Also, if I were to use a candid photo, would this one work? (w/o the Photoshoping) The peace sign is kind perhaps too Asian? :/

Thanks for the feedback!

bookgirl06, try photoshop, or if you don't have access to it, gimp (http://www.gimp.org/windows/).

:)

its a dead link

Remove the trailing parenthesis.

http://www.gimp.org/windows/

should work now :)

uh OK so what is the general concensus? :P

Everyone isn't gonna agree with me...it is different, I'll give you that, but it makes it seem like you tried too hard. Turn it in, you already finished it.

I agree with glucose.

Turn it in.
