Its 13 credits which I know is low. I didn't have a lot of options with hours and I'm not going to take a class monday nights and a 9am class every day.

Other than that do you think the low credit count will be a problem moving forward?

I had a comparable schedule and you should be okay. The important part of having 13 credits in not dropping unless you must. A100, M119 and Econ are obviously going to be your hard ones. But with all three, they are manageable.Stay on top of those, and only having 13 credits shouldn’t be to much of an issue. Kelley recommends between 13 and 15 so it’s okay. Though understand that if you don’t have a good amount of credits coming in(which I didn’t) you will have more loaded schedules in the future.

If you want to add one, I go for a easy activity class. I did two for 1 credit a pop. Easy, fun, kept off the freshman 15, and easy stress reliever. I remember survive some of those dreaded “drop” classes and your setting yourself up well for the future.

And I apologize for some of the awful grammar in the last paragraph.

Thanks Yorker. How do I sign up for those classes? And is it really worth taking them if they aren’t part of the Kelley degree?

In terms of credit, I got exemption from English comp
And credit for the world culture part of gen Ed. I may also have credit for one A/H gen Ed course.

chi2288, if your standardized test scores are high enough to exempt you from W131, then they might also be high enough to qualify for two free credits for W143. You usually have to call the English department to get the credit. Call them at the number listed on the web page after you start fall semester.

They would be under the SPH(they changed it this year) heading I believe as is your sports management class. Go to ADD/DROP on your student center page and search them. You’ll be amazed at what comes up. To answer your question on how worthwhile they are, I, as you will, have taken many classes that have nothing to do with Business. Some will help you, some are just for your own knowledge, but activity classes are great to just add a credit or two to a lower credit semester.

I’d recommend one like racquetball(actually played it after taking the class) or something along those lines. Easy As if you attend class, you get a lot from them(being in Kelley sometimes you can forget to stay active and it helps), and at the end of the day they won’t take up more than 3 or 4 hours a week.
