Is this AP Chemistry?

I am a junior in high school, taking my classes at a college. My chemistry class just began two days ago (Inorganic Chemistry I), and we are using “General Chemistry: The Essential Concepts” by Raymond Chang (Third Edition). I have looked at the AP syllabus online, and it looks like the book covers the same material. My class is covering every chapter from now until May, and I want to take the AP exam. Does anyone know (maybe someone who has used this book) if going through this whole book would be roughly equivalent to AP Chemistry? Note: I haven’t taken Chem. before if that means anything…

Thanks,

Bump...Bump...

I don't know, but seeing as your class i called inorganic chemistry, you will probably not learn the organic stuff that is on the test. I don't remember there being a lot, but you might want to learn some if you take the test. You are not required to take an AP class to take the test and get credit either.

i didnt use chang for my regular AP chem text, but i did use it many times for reference. i'm pretty sure my shcool used chang before they got the new books i used. if you cover all the material in chang, and cover it well, i'd take the AP exam if i felt ready. btw, chang is a good book!!!!

i'm using chang for my text and i'm taking ap chemistry now.
