Is this bad?

I have good grades and ECs, but my SATs weren't so good, until now. I just did the May SAT and I felt very good about Writing and CR (my two weakest sections) but I screwed up my math. Here is my run down till now:

*Just of note, I have won distinctions in international maths competitions so really my stupid mistakes are the only things preventing me from getting an 800

December 09 SAT:
700M, 650CR, 580W
1930 Composite (1350/1600)

January 10 SAT:
770M, 660CR, 640W
2070 Composite (1430/1600)

May 10 SAT:
Around 740M, 720-760CR, 780-800W
2240-2300 Composite (1460-1500/1600)

You see, the problem is that based on my ECs and awards I really should be getting 800 in math each time, and I know I can if I get down and concentrate, however, I am applying to Ivy Leagues and thus my overall score would look mitigated and my awards may lose some of their appeal. Should I retake?

Based on what I have predicted my superscore will be:

2270-2330 Composite (1490-1530/1600).

Many of the schools, especially the Ivies look at all scores, so how would the crappy maths score in the May SAT affect me as a whole (I know without it I would have a good chance of breaking 2300)? What should I do?

Woops, typo. I meant, with a 800 in math I would have a good chance of breaking 2300, not without. :D

Lol, I’m really good at Math too but I always seemed to get one or two wrong in practice tests somehow. I think I aced it this time though, I rechecked every question at least thrice with so much time remaining.

I say retake. All your awards will look like flukes.

I don’t think they would look like flukes because there are about 5 of them and they are all international awards. Would you recommend that I retake if I get a 800 in Math II Subject test?

I think the difference between 770 and 800 is very small. I would hope that adcoms would realize that a 770 means you just made one careless error and are obviously very capable of doing math.

If you have a good Math II, and maybe a rec from a math teacher, plus all your math awards - I really don’t think your math skills would come into question.

Thanks. I have decided that if I get a score beneath 2250 on the May SAT I will most probably do it one last time (though it will be 4th attempt :S) in an attempt to get over 2300. Now I don’t really care about Math because I know confidently that I can get 800 in Math II.
