Is this being deferred?

The Board of Admissions has given your application to Boston University under the Early Decision program careful consideration. I am writing to inform you that you have not been admitted as an Early Decision candidate; however, your application will receive a second review in our regular decision admissions process when we receive your senior grades and the results of any additional standardized tests you may have taken since November. I also urge you to have your school forward your senior grades as soon as they are available. The Common Application Midyear Report form is available on the Common Application website.

We are very pleased that Boston University is your first choice for the pursuit of your college degree and we look forward to reviewing your academic progress. As a regular decision candidate, you will be notified of the Board’s final decision by early April.

If we can be of further assistance in the months ahead, please contact my office at 617-353-4492 or intadmis@bu.edu.

You have our best wishes for continued success this year.

What should I do?

you were deferred… so was I

Keep your grades up, have your GC send a mid year report and info on any new awards / accomplishments. You will be considered again during the regular admission process. The same thing happened to my son last year and he ended up getting admitted RD.

the thing is that about 10 persons in my class will apply to BU regular decision so i will probably be rejected

Yeah you were deferred.

Just because ten other people apply does not mean anything for you. I had 13 (just of who I knew) people apply to BU from my school and I knew of 9 being accepted, 3 who actually enrolled. Just worry about yourself, do well in school, and you will be fine.

i have a question, everyone that wasnt admitted to the early decision program were deffered or where there also some who were completely not admitted?
