I applied to two different BS/MD programs in Texas: UT PACT and FAME @ UTSA.

To me, UT PACT seems worth it because it's a 7-year program and UTSW is an extremely highly regarded medical school. Also, the scholarship money is amazing. However, I feel like my chances are extremely slim in getting in because obviously everyone sees the exact same pros as me.

FAME on the other hand... The only thing that really appeals to me about it so far is the fact that it's a 7-year program, but I have enough college credit to go to university for only 3 years anyways. And I would hope that I could at least get into a top 50 medical school. The program doesn't offer its students aid. You have to apply separately... which frankly is a huge turn-off and extremely annoying. Also, the medical school (UT School of Medicine in San Antonio) is not ranked in the top 50. I live in Dallas, so I have to drive all the way to San Antonio for my interview AND miss school (which is going to be sort of an issue because I have a quiz over the things I miss in LinAlg). I'm trying to decide if it's worth it.

Even if I do get in, would I even get enough merit aid so that my parents see it as a worthy investment? Even if I get enough aid, would I even go at all? What are your suggestions?
