I’m finalizing my senior year schedule at the moment, and wanted to hear what you guys think about whether it’s realistic. I’m planning to take:
AP Stats
AP Chem
AP Psych or AP Comp Gov
AP Lang
Honors German
P.E: (presumably rowing)
And a special course/study group that will merge Calculus BC and Physics C: Mechanics (I already took Calc AB and Physics 1 & 2 this year)
Basically, I’d like to hear what you guys think about this in terms of manageability. Do you think I can take Comp Gov (teacher makes it very rigorous), or should I stick to the far easier Pysch? Also interested to hear about any experiences anyone has had with 6 APs in one year before. Thanks!
That’s a lot of ap courses. For me, I would just drop 1-2 courses for like electives, but if your going to a really good college, I suppose keeping it. I’m looking forward to taking AP Psychology, and I heard That it’s an easy course to take. Does your school run on block schedule with the 4x4? And if you ever do take AP Psychology, you might find it to be easy since it’s an interesting course to learn. My brother passed with a B in there.
I would go with AP Psychology! It is such a fun course and will probably be a well needed break in your schedule. That being said, if your aim is a really good college and you think you can handle it, go for it! Its definitely a manageable schedule if you stay focused and work hard.
My Junior year I took 2 honors classes and 5 APs, and let me tell you at times it was hell, but in the end I made it. I know people that’ve taken 8 AP classes, although that it a bit too much imo.
