Is This Normal?

<p>I feel like my chances at UC's are so low because of my GPA.</p>

<p>At my school, a weighted GPA of 4.0 puts one in the top 40% of the class...to be in the top 10% you have to have between a 4.7-5.0 weighted (which 61 students actually have).</p>

<p>Our average schoolwide SAT score is 1800.</p>

<p>Our school is high ranked...but is this a pattern at any other schools? (we're public, by the way so I really mean among public schools).</p>

<p>Does this help or hurt my chances of getting into a UC school? Basically I know that I'm around/within the top 30% of my class because the rest of the kids are so competitive.</p>

<p>This sucks! I have more B's than A's; however, I know I definitely worked hard to earn them!</p>

<p>Yes, it is normal. I think most people think their chances at the schools they want to get into are low, or at least fears they are.</p>

<p>The scary part is that the fears are usually not overdramatic…it’s so difficult to get in now that I am really starting to doubt myself.</p>

<p>Is anyone else’s school like mine? Maybe we’re just nerds…</p>

<p>It’s a lot like OP’s…except I don’t think we’re ranked as high.</p>

<p>I hope class rank doesn’t matter too much (my school doesn’t officially rank).</p>
