Could I call in and ask them to check the GPA on my transcript? I have heard some stories of the wrong GPA being put on transcripts(sometimes to the benefit of the student!) but I would just like to be safe rather than sorry. I am just making sure that it wouldn't be weird or intrusive to do something like this, I mean this is a very important time of my life so I might as well get it right?

Please do not call any Admissions Office for something like this, as it will be intrusive, weird and annoying. Can you imagine if 30,000 students called an Admissions Office and asked the same “Nervous Nellie” kind of question! If you are concerned about your transcript, go speak to your high school guidance counselor to make sure the information sent from your high school was accurate.

IDK. Yesterday my daughter received her award letter from her college. It has rolling admissions, and she had been asked to submit a ‘pre-application’ from the coach. The award they indicated in Sept. was lower than what I was getting on the NPC, and they said she could increase the award by retesting and submitting any improved stats. And she did improve.

So today I called and they’d never updated any scores or her rank. Admin asked me to send in the ACT scores (and I asked if they didn’t get them and she said ‘Hmm, we should have’; when we printed off the scores the school is listed as having been sent the update). I think they just never updated her file, even after she formally applied, sent in TWO new sets of scores, and her first semester grades. I’ve also seen at least 5 different class ranks since this summer! so I don’t trust the guidance office. It is a difference of $5k/yr, so rather important.

If you have a reason to think your transcripts are wrong (like 5 different versions in 6 months), then contact your guidance office. If you have no reason to doubt the transcript, let it be.

Have your guidance counselor do it. Use them as a scapegoat.
