Is this overkill? Am I going to super stressed out?

Okay, so I'm going to be a sophomore in September and I'm already worried that my life is going to be borderline suicide once school starts.
In my sophomore year, I'm going to be taking these exams:
AP Psychology (self study)
AP US History (self study)
AP Euro (self study)
SAT Math Level 1
SAT Math Level 2
SAT Chemistry
PSAT

In my junior year, I'm going to be taking these exams:
SAT
PSAT
AP Gov
AP Euro (self study)
AP Calc BC
AP Stat (self study)
AP Chem
AP French
SAT II Chemistry

I'm also going to be in National Honor Society, Music Honor Society, Chess Club, Cooking for a Cause, and writing for my school newspaper.

*Is this overkill? Am I going to BE super stressed out? Sorry for the typo guys..

Looks fine to me

@Sophomore year- pysch is a easy self study, and the histories aren’t bad as long as you space them out over a year.

@Junior- could be okay- depending on what your strengths and weaknesses are. Btw, you wrote down AP Euro twice. ap stat is an easy self study as well. I heard gov wasn’t that bad. calc and chem could be more challenging depending on whether you like math or science. sat chem goes hand in hand with ap, so not as bad. sat and psat go together.

Good luck

I’d skip math 1 because you have to take it at a different date than math 2 and math 2 is easier than math 1 if you’ve had precalc/trig while still being seen as more challenging by most schools.
Otherwise, I think this is standard for CC kids. You will be super stressed at timesbut at least you won’t beat yourself up later for not doing everything you could.

Why don’t you drop the self studies for something
that doesn’t stress you out, but is still meaningful?
And drop SAT Math level 1 no one cares about it and
you already got Level 2?

I also think Math 1 is useless, so save the money.

You should take the Chem SAT the same year as AP Chem, that’s my recommendation from the experience I had this year. The SAT was SO freakin’ easy compared to the AP that I thought I totally owned it, but I ended up short 10pts. haha.

Sophomore year, so far, looks like a breeze, so maybe you can take a load off of junior year and move AP Stats, since French is supposedly a pain (I took Spanish, and it wasn’t great, but I had crappy teachers 3 out of my 5 classes, got a 4 though), and Chem is also supposedly a pain. My classmates say that Calc is bad too. So I really think you should switch a self-study to sophomore year if you think you’re up for it.

Don’t stress too much.

P.S. I don’t think self-studying is too stressful if you know how to pace, I’m self-studying right now and it’s been fine, but I’m studying subjects I’m actually interested in, and I’ve got nothing else to do right now except summer homework. Still, I wouldn’t drop the self-studying unless you can do something actually better with your time.

I agree with the posts above me that you should drop Math 1.

Self studying Euro AND US in the same year isn’t a good idea. Euro in 10th, US in 11th?

Save SAT II chem for junior year when you have AP chem

This seems very manageable, but you really don’t need Math I. Your sophomore year shouldn’t be that stressful, but it’s definitely enough to show that you’re challenging yourself. Your junior year looks much more stressful; I don’t know anything about Stats and the level of math it requires, but you could consider taking it sophomore year to ease your junior year load.

you are literally going to die

You are putting unnecessary stress on yourself.
Drop SAT Math 1
Don’t take SAT2 Chem twice. Take it in Jr, when ur taking AP Chem
You’ve got AP Euro twice, just take it once.
Why do you care about so many self study AP classes? Take APUSH exam when you are taking the class rather than self study.
All AP self studies are nice if you want to decrease the cost of college, but I think that adcoms care more about your SAT1, SAT2s etc. Just take the “easy” AP self study exams.

I would not recommend self-studying two histories in your sophomore year, since they are some of the most in-depth AP tests (in my humble opinion). I would study Euro one year and U.S. one year. Like the posts above, forget the Math I SAT. Perhaps go for the U.S. History SAT or even French if you want a third one. Also like previous posters’ recommendations, take the Chemistry SAT after AP Chem. Otherwise, your schedule won’t warrant suicidal behavior if you pace yourself! I really should have followed my own advice during my junior year…=P

By the way… AP exams (self studies) aren’t huge in the college process… just making sure that you know that

Drop Math 1. It’s pointless if you’re taking Math 2; Math 2 is more highly regarded and it has a more forgiving curve.

Why are you studying AP Euro two years in a row? Drop Euro sophomore year and focus on US History. You can cover AP Euro in a year. Take it your junior year and spare yourself the stress.

Dont’ bother with taking the SAT Subject for Chem twice. That’s just giving collegeboard more money. Wait until you’re junior year when you’re taking AP Chem. Trust me, after AP Chem, the subject test will be a breeze.

I can’t see NHS and Music Honor Society being too harsh. Chess Club can be stressful, I dunno. Newspaper, cooking for a cause, I’m not too sure about that either. But EC wise, I don’t think it’ll be too bad.

AP French is difficult to get a five on. It’s going to take a lot of work unless you have a great teacher. It’ll practically be another self-study.

Good luck!
