Hi so for IB Bio, there is this summer homework that requires us to grow plants and have an independent variable. So basically an IA. What I’m worried about is that what I’m doing is very similar to what I did in Freshman Bio. In freshman bio, I tested how different types of water will affect the growth of radishes. So I used tap water and bottled water. And also a mix of both. For my IB Bio I’m also testing the same thing but adding distilled water instead of a mix. I will have the same teacher as I had in Freshman Bio. Is this plagiarism??
I think you should be fine
I don’t think it’s plagiarism. But I can’t see you getting as high a grade for repeating an experiment that you’ve already done.
No. However, your school, like mine, might have a rule against submitted the same (or virtually identical) work for 2 different classes.
Why don’t you pick a different independent variable and avoid the issue entirely? You can use different amounts of sunlight, use plant food for one and not the other or many other things…
It would be better to do something interesting, not just a rehash of what you did before. Show a little creativity.
