is this possible?

i've been accepted at u of chicago and i'm pretty sure i'll go there. i was wondering if say, i major in art history and keep my grades up and complete the course requirements for pre-med, if even having a completely different major would still get me accepted at another really good med school.

could i perhaps double major? thanks for any help.

You could double major if you wanted to; the only risk is that your GPA could fall, and/or it would be difficult to complete the pre-med requirements on top of the requirements for each major. Also, you can major in anything you want, as a pre-med student. Your major does not need to be science related.

Does that answer your question(s)?

yea thanks! do u know how many courses i would have to take as requirements if i'm just going to major in art history?

2 semesters of physics with lab
2 semesters of g chem with lab
2 semesters of o chem with lab
2 semesters of bio with lab
2 semesters of english
2 semesters of math (recommended)
1 semester of biochemistry (recommended)

so its at least 14 classes.

I think the Math might just be one semester, if you start off at a high enough level (i.e. if you use BC Calc AP).
