On the April SAT, I scored a 1910 total score. Do you think it would be possible to raise this to around the 2100-2200 area given that:

670 CR: I plan on reading a lot over the summer. This also might've been a fluke as I scored a 750 on my last practice test.
670 Math: Went into this stone cold. This time I plan on prepping.
590 Writing: Went into the MC without even going over the rules or prepping at all. I feel this is where I could raise my scores 100-120 points fairly easily, plus my easy was a 7/12, which is far lower than the straight 6's I was scoring in a prep class where the teacher used to grade the SAT essays.

Are my goals too lofty given an entire summer and around 12-20 practice tests?

670+670+590 = 1930....

that could be your problem? j/k...

but anyways, i have had the same problem as you. I was on 1910. 620 CR 690 Math 600 Writing

I think i did relatively well on this june test and got >2000 unless my answer sheet is somehow wrong and probably above 2100.Dont want to jinx it

Anyways, Its pretty easy to improve math, its just that I have been making stupid mistakes. I made 3 for sure this time and am pretty mad, since i solved all the problems correctly, just keep putting down the wrong answers.

Anyways the way i studied for Critical reading i just kept taking practice tests and somehow my critical reading jumped from 550->580->630->650-> and then one last jump to 740 on practice tests.
I took all 7 of collegeboards online tests + all the 8 in the blue book

For writing it is all practice i bought Kaplans Writing Workbook, and barrons writing workbook. Before i was making around 10-12 mistakes, now i was making 5-8 easily. 8(was bad test) and writing i could improve further because i only got an 8 on my essay and if i get a 12 with only 5 wrong i would get around 730.

So practicing just helped my score jumped points for some reason. There came a point when i just "got" the information and realized the answers that collegeboard wanted.

Err...whoops. I think once I thought my writing score was 570 when I first saw it, but it was actually 590. So I guess it's only a 170 point jump.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll start prepping as soon as school ends, with a heavy concentration as it gets close to the October date.

its def. possible..i took the SAT in january and got a 1900. took it again in april and got a 2130...just study hard and take a lot of practice tests and you should do well.

Thanks for the confidence boost. :)
