I’m a rising junior who is planning to take AP Chem (took Honors Chem and ended up with a 98), APES, AP World, AP Lang, Honors Precalculus and Latin 1( already have 4 credits of Spanish).
Should I drop AP Lang if my schedule is too hard? Btw, I want to major in environmental engineering or something STEM related.
I think 4 years of English is essential. Is it not mandatory?
I wouldn’t drop it either way, but consider taking a regular or honors class instead. Your schedule looks good. Have you taken a Bio class?
If you are going to drop a class, I would drop AP Environmental Science. Do not drop AP language.
I think the OP meant dropping down a level, not dropping it entirely.
She indicated that she had, on another thread.
I have to agree, particularly since you have not taken physics, which IMO is more important than doubling up on AP Sciences. AP Lang, even for STEM kids is very beneficial as there are few professions in which you don’t need to write and communicate effectively. Additionally the writing skills will prove invaluable when it comes time to write application essays.
Whether the proposed schedule is “too hard” is subjective. Only you/your parents/your teachers and GC can determine that for you.
make sure you take Bio,Chem and Physics and at least one AP version of those. I see you are adding APES which is fine. If you have gotten to Spanish 4, why take Latin 1? Colleges are not expect you to take 4 years if you have gotten tot he 4th level of a language.
it would be okay to drop AP Lang or AP World to an Honors class if necessary
