Is this schedule too tough?

I am going to take the following classes in SMC and I want to ask you guys for your great advice to see if they are too much, coz I heard from people that you should take two harder and two easier classes. Here's re my schedule:

English 1
Chem 11
Math 7 (calculus)
Statisitcs.

I would be grateful if you guys can offer me some advice!! thanks a lot. may we all have a good start in fall =)

not really...

No that's not too hard, good variety though. Where are you aiming to transfer to?

I think i said in my previous message, the combo of classes is fine... Just the teachers are a little challenging. But if u have a good work ethic, u should be fine... I don't mean to scare u... lol... It's just all depends on ur work ethic, ability, etc...

I took a similar course load... Similar level of dificulty w/ Chem teachers. But then i took 3 other GE w/ easy teachers... so i spent majority of the time studying for chem.

But honestly i think u should be fine..

I am aiming to transfer to UC berkeley, UCLA or UCSD for a biology major.

its only 4 classes. Ive taken 7 classes before.

6 classes were all in 1 day twice a week . and 1 class 1 night a wensday.

That is almost nothing.

I would like to take more classes, but 16 units are their maximum. =)

you can always ask for an overload - i am currently enrolled for 25 credits at my local CC.

nontrad, why are you taking that many classes? i tried to get a slip to get 23 credits because i figured it would impress adcoms and the advisor at my cc said it was pointless.

Yeah, my CC won't let me take more than 18 units because my cumluative GPA (which includes classes that I took at the CC in HS and for which I didn't recieve very savory grades....) is slightly below 3.0. (My transfer GPA is 3.5 ) They say that they don't care if I have to take so many units to ensure that I'll graduate (and transfer) when I want....and that's a shame! They won't budge on their position.

I'm taking

Comparative Politics
Intermediate Algebra
Dance Appreciation
Spanish 3
International Relations

If I win my battle with admissions.....I'll enroll for another class, probably Psych or Sociology. I only need to be in 20 to ensure that I'll be able to transfer for Fall 2006. Two short shouldn't really matter.....but that means that I'll have to take 17 units in the spring....

no thats a good schedule. don't worry. even if you work part time, you should be okay.

i'm a bit older (25) and have no desire to stay in college for 4 years. I'm trying to graduate as soon as possible.

I started this past spring taking 17 credits - then 21 credits in the summer - now 25 credits in the fall. My target school, UVA, only gives 7 credits for my 10 credits of math. Therefore, i will have a total of 60 transferrable credits.

After i transfer, i plan on taking 15 or 18 credits every semester, including the summer semester, and graduate Spring 2008.

You're schedule's fine. Just make sure you keep up with all the Math (at my CC, Math profs gave like 200 problems every night, so I cant imagine how I'd manage twice that. But I'm not a math kid, so whatever).

Rigor schedule is always a plus for transfers. I think yours is pretty much the average schedule, not too easy, yet, nothing impressive.
This semster I will take what is in my opinion one of the most rigor schedule possible:
Calc III
linear algebra
chemistry II
Physics with calc II
Computer programming c++
20 semster hours total.
I'm hoping this will impress admission in Cornell.

wow. mad props to u njcc... Take a lot to take that kind of courseload. I could never do that. I don't mean to sound crazy, but i am assuming u thought this thru several times, have expirience w/ such a load, and talked to some people...

Thx dude.
Right now I have 43 credits and I am aiming for 60 so, stretching it to 2 semster is simply a waste of time. Also, last semster I've had almost identical rigor schedule:
Calc II
chemistry I
biology I
microeconomics
Physics with calc I

I got A for all of them. However, I take only limited credit for these accomplishments cause it's merely a CC

wow. congrats... yeah everyone is different. Some people can handel it w/ no prob...
