Is this senior year schedule going to be too stressful?

AP Bio
AP Physics 1 (Might change this to something else)
AP Stat
AP Computer Science
AP Lit
Spanish 4 Honors (Easy)
Humanities Honors (This class is required for a program I am in. Easy)
Macroeconomics (Dual Enrollment, Already took Microeconomics Dual Enrollment)

My high school does 4 classes per semester.
I think it will be okay, but I'm worried these classes combined with college admissions stuff and etc.

bump

Really, bumping after 30 minutes?

I think the schedule is doable, even with college apps.

@skieurope I know… I am impatient. Thanks for your advice though!

It’s fine. Doable

@leahsingleton‌ thanks for your input!

Where do you want to go to college? We have no idea if it would be “too stressful” because we don’t know what kind of student you are. My state’s two top universities don’t accept dual enrollment credits so be sure you can use the credits at the colleges you have your eye on.

Dual enrollment isn’t for credit, per se, but rather to demonstrate rigor and an inquisitive mind with ability to take college-paced classes. Credit is just an added bonus if you get it.

Are the classes taken in the order presented -4 sciences one semester, 4 humanities/Social science another one? I hope it’s 2+2 one semester, and 2+2 another one.

Classes are not in order. I get high school credit as well as college credit for the dual enrollment course. I am hoping to attend UNC Chapel Hill or NC State. @MYOS1634‌ @OspreyCV22‌

Ok good that they’re not in order - that imbalance may have been a bit of a problem.
What major are you going for?

I really want to major in Business or Economics @MYOS1634‌

looks good then :)

If you have to ask if it’s doable, you are probably biting of more than you can chew. From the looks of it, you will be doing 8 advanced courses while still doing ECs, applying to colleges, applying for scholarships, and interviewing for schools. With this course load, one of those things will suffer. Are you willing to have a lower GPA? Are you willing to not be committed to an EC? Are you willing to pass on the opportunity to do interviews because of school work? Are you willing to write average college essays because of your commitment to school work?

These are very important things you need to consider. The college application process is very stressful and you are going to run out of juice for the school year, all within about 4 months.

Also, when May comes, will you be able to study and prepare for all these exams?

Are you going to be studying for standardized exams in the fall?

Taking on a schedule like this is easier said than done.

Also, why are you talking Bio and Physics if you want to do Econ?

PM me if you would like to talk more.

I am definitely thinking about dropping the AP Physics for something else because it has no interest to me. I don’t have many options left of classes to take that deal with my desired college majors, so I am trying to make my senior schedule look rigorous and show that I tried, but still obtain good grades.

Assuming you’re in-state for UNC or NCState, not sure you have to work this hard. What are the in-state acceptance measures for Chapel Hill compared to what you’ve already got?

Two science AP’s at once seems a bit much. If you don’t like physics, go ahead & drop that one. Taking a class just for the sake of impressing colleges will make you miserable. Since you’re not a science major, AP Bio by itself should be fine.

what are your other choices if you don’t take physics?
BTW, it’s fine to take a “fun” or “exciting” class senior year, or a “college essay writing class” (as long as it’s not called like that :p), or something you’ll never get to take otherwise like cooking or carpentry or bicycle repair or drama…;)
