<p>The incredible amount of “rank these schools based on prestige” threads in this forum alone is evidence. This is the college <em>search and selection</em> forum.</p>
<p>Whether you like it or not, prestige does play a role in the college search and selection, especially the selection. I can see why people would make those threads, even though I think too many people are obsessed over prestige.</p>
