^ Look like they are just looking to make money off students trying to transfer.

Real-
Huh? Chip? The reality is that the % chances of acceptance for transfer students at Stanford is always less than for Freshman. The # of transfer openings is contingent on how many undergraduates choose to leave Stanford[ and not too many do], as well as how overenrolled the incoming Freshman class is. The same goes for H,Y,C. Look up the stats yourself. They are on the Common Data sets for each college. Or look up CC threads from the last few years. The increase in competition for Freshman acceptance to top colleges also has an effect on transfer acceptance rates. The only top 10 U that hold spots for transfers is the U of Chicago.

isnt the acceptance rate 5% not 2%?

Not last year. Stanford accepted only 20/1440. If the incoming Freshman class is overenrolled again this year[ which admissions won't know until the end of May] then it can happen again.

Oh well there goes my dream and everything I have worked for.

I go to Brown and a lot of our transfers came from CC's

Transfer to Stanford is nearly impossible. This is a fact.

It is also a fact that some succeed each year.

So....

the moral of the story is to work your buns off (in school and on your application) and try, but don't get your hopes up.

Perfect summation.
College- go ahead and try, but don't expect success. That's all we're trying to say.
