I know, I know, low gpa. There’s a pretty good explanation for it which I won’t dive into on here. Basically, I tanked my gpa when I first came to CCC because of family issues, which are still not completely resolved. I live with my grandmother who I’ve been taking care of since high school and I’m also a legal guardian for my cousin who is 8 years old. I live with my grandma, cousin and aunt.
After 3 semesters in CCC with 1 year long gap in between one of them I had a 1.5 gpa and was on the verge of expulsion.
Long story short, I pulled my life together and became genuinely interested in school, especially STEM. I had taken no STEM classes prior to this. Ended up taking some STEM classes and now I have a 4.0 science/math gpa but a 3.48 UC gpa. After this semester, my UC gpa should be about a 3.59 if I get A’s in all my classes.
I have some decent EC’s. Not Mother Teresa status but I’ve done some volunteering and am also fairly involved in various clubs and organizations at school including AGS (honors society) which is largely based around community service.
I took the time to make this summary of my grades just so you can see the trend. I'm hoping adcoms will take this into consideration. Also I've finished 2 of my 4 personal insight questions; so far everyone who has read them thought they were pretty bomb.com. :3
