Is UCLA hard to get into?

I don’t know that much about UCLA, but for someone who might, is it hard to get into? Around what kind of sat/gpa would you need? Also is it hard to get in there if you are out of state?

Yes, it’s very competitive. It’s easy to find SAT/GPA averages via Google and the Common Data Set.

Here is a link to the Freshman Profile for UCLA. The GPA listed is the UC GPA capped weighted.

Also note that UCLA will cost around $55K/year as an out of state student with no financial aid.

You’ll want to aim for a 4.3+ GPA and a 2000-2100+ SAT score, and even higher for competitive majors such as Engineering.

UCLA is the most applied to school in the nation, there were over 119,000 applicants this year. Their acceptance rate is usually around 17%. UCLA is top school and it’s not unheard of if a student with a perfect GPA, SAT and amazing ECS, etc doesn’t get in. They do look at everything in an application however. Best of luck!
