I know! I HAVE to go to a school near the beach. I'm planning on going to Admit day on April 4, but UCSB's open house is the same day. -_-
where are you from?

I visited UCLA, USC and UCSD campus and I got to say USC campus is overrated.

I'm from Los Angeles.

what about you?

sorry ucsd, but im a hoya ea acceptee

@konakai27: while Admit Day is nice and all, its more of just a chance for the school to sell itself to you. I'd suggest coming on a normal day and checking it out...I think someone has already offered, and I too would be willing to give a tour of campus. Admit day, while interesting and all, doesn't give a view of how UCSD is day to day.

I'm from LA, too.

prdonut2k7: Is school in session from April 6-10? That's when I have spring break.

Yea school is in session then...our break starts at the end of this week.

How long is your break?

We got a week...and what a wonderful week it will be. School resumes on the 28th or so.

Do you have finals now/soon?

UCSD is my second choice.

UCB > UCSD > UCLA > UCD

I have 2 tomorrow, including one at 8am, and then one on thursday. My brain is so overloaded with information right now.

Good luck!

Thanks. Much appreciated

Ucb>ucla>ucsd>uci

UCSD is my first choice. If I get in Berkeley I might consider going there, but there's a good chance I'd choose UCSD over Cal.

You guys have to not think of colleges as reject schools. If you really wanted to, you can look at UCLA and Berkeley. Alot of people went tho those schools because they were rejected from Ivies. Go to the Ivy level... Alot of people went to Cornell because they were rejected from Princeton and Harvard... Even jump down to some other UC's. A lot of people at UCR are there because they got rejected by upper UC's.

Everyone has first choices and UCSD is just as much a first choice to alot of people as are UCLA/UC Berkeley, UC whatever. Think about it guys...

yeahhh UCSD was my dreamschool!!!!!!!!!!! and got accepted lol

My first choice was going to either be a decision between Cal and SD. But I didn't get into Cal so it wasn't difficult to decide where I would go.

Is SD a reject school? I think the answer used to be a definite yes, but ever since a few years ago that perception has been changing, given some of the key specific programs that SD excels at, and so many students choose to come here instead.

And I agree with OoPurestOo's post. Everybody is pretty much going to a reject school. But that's all one meaningless attempt by rankings and society's love for such rankings to justify that their college experience is more meaningful than someone else's. There may be people who try to pass of their superiority complex of their respective university onto you, but that's only because they're probably not happy with their current experience.
