Is UW Early Fall Start good for prerequisites?

I’m planning on applying to CSE as early as possible and I would love to get a head start on the general education requirements. I looked through the offerings, but it doesn’t look like any of them count for credit towards anything besides the overall graduation requirement.

Did I miss something, or are these courses just meant to be for fun?

Thanks.

I did EFS, and they have a few computing related classes. Try to get into the Image processing and python programming class, taught by Steve Tanimoto of CSE.

The main reason to take EFS is to acclimatize to the environment of college, get to know a few people in the class who are most likely doing CS also, and also complete a nice and easy GPA booster class.

Thanks for the response. By the way, how much of the image processing course is spent covering programming basics? Is it worthwhile for people with previous experience in computer science?

It is definitely worth to take. It uses software and programming in Python to edit and manipulate images. Very cool if you are interested in the applications of CS.

Alright, cool. Thanks again.
