I want to go to Harvard or Yale Law School, or a top law school in general, and I'm scared that Vandy will deny me the ability to go to a top 5 law school because of grade deflation or whatever. Does Vandy provide a good law school track to a top law school?

When applying to law schools a large part of your application is your test scores. In order to be competitive for Yale, you will need to score higher than 170 on the LSATs. Vanderbilt will provide you with a strong foundation, but alot of it will come down to your test-taking ability.

Vanderbilt does not, from my experience, deflate grades to an extent that if you are truely a driven person who wants to work hard and go to one of those prestigious schools, that the world of academia at Vanderbilt will not be the facet of your undergradute education to hold you back. Nothing builds a school's rep more than where their students go for graduate school and how successful they become in life. Vanderbilt has the resources you would need to go to law school and a good basis of what is needed for a pre-law program because Vanderbilt Law School is a very rigorous graduate program and it is ont h same campus as the undergraduate school. It may not be as difficult to get in to compared to harvard or yale but it has a solid program.
