Is what this said about Business Adminstration true?

I copied this from an yahoo answers, a guy wrote this three years ago.

"I personally don't see the point of majoring in Business Admin at the bachelors level. It's too general and hints that you weren't smart enough for Economics, Finance or Accounting. It'll offer you nothing in terms of job opportunities that those three majors don't already offer."

My question now, is it really true what he said about an Business Adminstration major regarding the Bachelor's degree?

Are you serious?

Yahoo answers makes CC seem like Harvard.

Most B majors at schools that have one get BETTER job offers than econ. In my view Finance and Accounting ar business majors. Few people actually major in general biz admin. You have a major too.

Most Accounting or Finance degrees are Bachelor’s of Business Administrations with an emphasis(conentration or specilization) in ********.

The Bachelor of Business Administration program allows students to specialize in a specific academic area including:

* Accounting

 • Entrepreneurship
 • Finance
 • Legal Studies
 • Management
 • Management information systems
 • Marketing
 • Supply chain management

Specializations very by college, but for the most part it is the same thing.

How is legal studies a business specialization? Such a major would qualify one to be a paralegal, not exactly a business oriented profession.

Don’t shoot the messenger, i simply re-posted that list. I think legal studies can be a business emphasis providing it covers business law classes.

I think it’s like a pre-law for business majors. Which is pretty silly since you are far better off majoring in Accounting and having a shot at being a tax lawyer if law school is your goal. Pre-law undergrad has no added value, really. Not that being a tax lawyer is all that and a bag of chips, but at least it’ll be an option. If law school doesn’t work out and you have bad grades then you’ll have an easier time getting into the Big Four with an accounting undergrad. Better than working as a JD janitor like lots of them these days.
