So yesterday my guidance counsellor called me to his office because apparently there was a timetable complication, and I’m not going to be able to take Gr. 11 and 12 Design Tech. (Sort of like an industrial design/drafting course) and asked me what I would like to take instead. I had a few different options, and arbitrarily decided to take grade 12 Writers Craft (Creative Writing), and a semester 2 spare (In Ontario students are allowed to have empty periods if they wish and go home early). That said my grade 12 year would be as follows:
Sem. 1:
Gr. 12 Visual Art
Gr. 12 Music
Gr. 12 Dramatic Arts
(Spare)
Sem. 2:
Gr. 12 English
Gr. 12 Writers Craft.
(Spare)
(Spare)
I’m applying to Music at UWO, so I’m focusing mostly on arts and humanities. I’m on track to graduate and my marks are fine (high 80’s), so don’t want to saturate myself with classes I don’t really need especially when I could be working or practicing. Should I maybe choose a different course like bio or economics rather than creative writing? Should I not have this many spares? I guess it won’t matter too much in the grand scheme, but I’m all ears to any better ideas…
