ISEF/STS/science fair thread

Hello there!

Haha, I was in kind of a similar situation when I entered high school. I went to nationals, but never to states. I have no idea what Siemens considers semifinalist level, but I thought my paper was kind of crappy but I still got semifinalist. :/

I guess the hardest part of high school science fairs is that the idea really has to not be done or it has to be something in a new way. I mean for middle school I actually literally took a project from a website and put it in my own words. :P

You should be off to a good start with a lab… Mentors are also important for science fair. The judging really depends on wherever you come from.

Hey,

You as a contestant have to generate new knowledge. it cannot be a regurgitation of someone else’s work, no matter how advanced.

And, know your ****. They will throw curveball questions you never thought of. Doesn’t matter how advanced your project is if you can’t answer these questions.

bump…
so how are you guys projects going?

I hope I get most of it done this winter break

same! the paper writing is the hardest part, imo
