Competitions such as Intel/Siemens, etc?

Hello everyone, I was curious as to when the major science fairs such as Intel, Siemens STS, ISEF, etc., have their deadlines, and when most people begin their projects. Any input would be appreciated!

Also, what level of knowledge (AP Bio, etc.) is recommended or required?

I’m interested in this too

Bump

Tomatox1, from my experience, you just have to have a pretty in depth knowledge of the topic you’re doing. Like, if you’re studying the effects of vancomycin on plant tropisms or whatever, you’d have to have a pretty in depth knowledge of why plant tropisms occur, how the vancomycin behaves, etc. I mean, if you’re doing a project like that, you won’t need to know the inner workings of a hemangioblastoma or something. (Completely made these examples up, btw.)

It’s Intel STS and Siemens.

Anyways, Intel STS deadline is Nov. 12 I believe, with Nov. 6 being the deadline for recommendations/transcripts.

Siemens deadline is last Monday of September, so this year, the 30th.

I don’t know about ISEF, but it’s probably easy to look up.

I think a ton of people do and finish their project during summer. I don’t know, there’s a lot of variety in this, but summer is a very good time to execute a project to completion.
