I am a Umass Amherst sophomore who is currently a Biochemistry major. I am looking to apply next fall and hopefully transfer into the Sport Management program in Isenberg. I know it is competitive and I was wondering what my chances are for getting accepted. My current gpa is a 2.4 by the end of this semester it should be up closer to a 2.7-2.8. I play a club sport here and was captain of two varsity sports teams in HS. I have worked as a youth camp counselor for sports camps in the past. These first two years I was unsure of what I wanted to do and this last year I declared biochemistry because I found it interesting and felt it was time to pick a major. But now that I have found my passion I know exactly what track I want to go and it's sport management. I have even conducted numerous interviews with people in the athletic department here at umass to make sure this is what I want. What are my chances for being accepted? I have also applied to the BDIC program as another possibility if I am not accepted to sport management. Any suggestions to increase my chances? What should I do if I am rejected? How do I convey that I know it's for me and truly do have a passion for this major? Thank you for your help.
