bryn mawr is a small school and city (does it even count as a city??) … so i was wondering if people ever feel isolated there. even though bryn mawr is fairly close to philly, realistically (considering a student’s budget/pocket money?) how often can students actually go to and from philly? i’ve lived in a city my whole life and i’m a bit wary of being isolated…

As I mentioned in a previous thread on this topic, I lived in Philly my senior year and commuted back and forth. And as I've said before, the experience is going to be what you make of it. If getting into the city is a priority for you, you'll make it happen.

I knew students that came from other cities that never went into Philly and I know students that came from rural areas that always went into Philly; but I also knew the reverse. For me, Philly is my hometown, so I was always going to spend some time there -- how much usually depended on how much work I had to do!
