How isolated do you feel at Cornell? Do you ever feel that you are in the middle of nowhere? Is there always enough to do on campus?

since i'm from texas and here in texas a car is the only way to get places...ithaca is weird in that sense...since i dont have a car...

there's always enough homework/studying to do...it would be nice if there was a nightclub in town...

forget the amount of homework, cornell is its own city basically, because of its size. for me, i always knew what was going on for the weekend in terms of frat parties etc by like...wednesday. you never have to call around for anything, word of mouth is HUGE. and cornell is also big enough that the school provides a lot of entertaining things, like concerts/speakers/comedians, etc. honestly, im from the suburbs, and its not so different.

I don't feel isolated at all, the University and Ithaca are a total wealth of things to do. Just because Ithaca itself isn't bordered by any massive cities, that doesn't mean there's not plenty of activities going on. Cornell really does an excellent job of providing stuff to do for students, even things at 1 am on a friday night.

depends where you come from. even if you're from a NY tri-state area suburb, it'll still feel more rural. there's definitely stuff to do, but you'll still probably get bored or feel that what you're doing is getting repetitive some times.

i completely agree with therealstory. The only times I feel cornell is isolated is when I need to leave. But when your there, you are never short of things to do.

The only time I have ever had trouble finding things to do was the couple days after finals, but before I went home. But that was because most of the campus was still in exam mode.

It really is not that isolated. There's plenty of stuff to do on campus. Sure there's not as much as a large city, but it has everything I need. I feel more isolated at home.
