ISP program at Trinity College vs Boston College Honors

Hello. My son intends to pursue pre med and is finding it difficult to decide between these two excellent programs. He is a bit on the quiet side but is a studious student. My only concern with BC is the size and the competition for resources especially research. ISP program at Trinity is a smaller program but I am concerned about the negative reviews about the student body and lack of motivation.

My daughter made contact with several pre med students (mostly seniors) last month who had extremely positive experiences with the pre health advising. They raved about local internships and the support they received along the way. All in all she was impressed with how positive these students were and the way they shared their experiences with lots of enthusiasm! We found these students by reaching out to the admissions office webpage . If you look there it shows each student who works there and their major. She just emailed a handful of the pre med students with questions on the pre health program. Like your son, my daughter is going in also with interest in pre med and is accepted into ISP. Feel free to PM me for more details!

@hulu54 Thanks for the response. After talking to several other people, my son has signed up for the ISP program and is looking forward to a great pre med experience. Has your daughter committed to ISP too?

Wow that’s great news! Yes my daughter has committed to ISP. She was drawn in to Trinity by ISP and the Health Fellows programs. Trinity’s size was also a draw for her since she would be able to work closely with the professors and start research early. Some of the pre health students she spoke to had some amazing shadowing experiences in the Health Fellows programs. There are hospitals with a few blocks of the campus so access to these opportunities is not a problem.

Congratulations! I am sure it will be a great pre med experience.
