I've never heard of Trinity College before until I saw it as one of the partner colleges for questbridge. Could anyone give me any insight on the pre med track at this college. How is it? Is it successful at getting students into med school?

Trinity has a great pre-med program, but you have to remember, Trinity is a small- liberal arts college. The focus is on being well-rounded. I graduated from there so that is why I know. Some of my friends went to great medical schools while others went overseas. College is what you make of it, and be sure to network and make connections. Trinity is very good with connecting you to the right people. Good luck. Contact me if you need anything else.

If you are interested in pre-med, I highly encourage you to take a look at the Health Fellows Program at Trinity College: http://www.trincoll.edu/Academics/SpecialPrograms/fellows/Pages/default.aspx. The Health Fellows Program is for mostly for Trinity juniors and seniors interested in pre-med and requires participants to take supplementary medical courses such as Ethics and allows students to work with a clinical care physician for 30 hours each week. It’s fantastic experience and I have friends who have worked at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center (about a couple blocks away from campus) and Hartford Hospital (one of New England’s largest hospitals, located less than 1.5 miles from campus, and a city bus to the hospital stops by campus every 15 minutes). Even if you end up not participating in the Health Fellows Program, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Hartford Hospital, Institute of Living, the Connecticut Department of Health, and more are located less than two miles away - which would allow you to have great shadowing/volunteering experience.

Also, 80% of all students applying for graduate medical programs including allopathic and osteopathic, dental, veterinary, physician’s assistant, nursing (accelerated), and pharmacy programs get accepted. For more information, I encourage you to view our Health Professions Admission Statistics: http://www.trincoll.edu/Academics/CareerDevelopment/Students/prehealth/Pages/Admission.aspx.
