issue with summer classes?

Hello, I'm currently a junior in high school. Im trying to raise a 2.6 to a 3.0 by the end of first semester of senior year which is attainable. I'm planning on taking a summer class provided by our school but I was interested in taking 1 or 2 more classes to ensure I get a 3. You can only take 1 class each summer but I was planning on taking the 2 other classes at a local community college but my counselor struck it down by saying that it wouldn't be very helpful if I took it at a community college. She said that the summer classes I took would be sent up separately with my school transcript and that it wouldn't be very beneficial.. What should I do? I was also wondering if a 2.9 would be the game changer for universities to either pick or refuse me because most universities require a 3.0 minimum? Please help!

That is a huge hike to achieve in one semester (2.6 to 3.0). What your GC is saying is that they don’t included community college grades in your high school GPA calculation. It wouldn’t hurt to have them completed with good grades, though. It just doesn’t help your GPA goal. Have you done the math to determine what grades you would have to achieve in the fall to get to your 3.0 goal?

Regarding admissions, there are a lot of schools you can still attend with a GPA a bit below 3.0. Provide a list of criteria (location, size, major, cost constraints, what state you live in) and you would get some suggestions.

I have to get 1 A and the rest B’s for this semester. For my first semester of senior year I need all A’s and I also have to complete 2 summer classes to get a 3.0 which is the issue because one of those classes doesnt count.
My SAT score is 2000 and I have decent EC’s.
I’m trying to get into
FSU. Colorado U at Boulder
Penn State. University of Florida
University of Iowa. Syracuse University
Ole Miss. University of Arizona
