Love seeing all the great pics of everyone’s doggos. This guy is not mine, but one of about 30 Great Pyrenees available for adoption in the Atlanta area. My son volunteers taking photos of these gentle giants who are in desperate need of furever homes.
They are really great and gentle dogs. Extremely smart and good with kids (yes my bias is showing ) for a big dog they really are low maintenance.
even though hot boi is a mix people ask about him all of the time and how to get one. I will pass this thread to her in hopes that they can get a NYC forever home.
He is no longer physically with us but he still lives in our hearts. This is how Charlie
looked when he was a mischievous puppy.
So many wonderful dogs.
Yup. Pyrs are pretty awesome, and I’m not biased at all Sadly, here in Georgia we are closing in on 200 rescues this year alone. They are used as livestock guardian dogs in rural areas. It is common for farmers to simply not retrieve the dogs from animal shelters if they run away.
I don’t know how well the pure breds would do in NYC. Barking a lot is in their DNA. But I’m sure they would love Westchester . The rescue also gets in a lot of Pyrenees mixes - most commonly Anatolian, Lab, Husky and German Shepherd.
Definitely the best CC thread ever!
Second best to the Cat Thread!
Aren’t Doodles just the sweetest!
Your girl looks a lot like my Tulley, gorgeous girl
Absolutely, my bad. I spent about $1,000 to have my cat shipped from Georgia to NH to re-home her to my daughter and SIL. I visit them in Boston every 6 weeks or so, I am the OG.
15 years old and starting to show his age. This is from a few years ago. He wandered up to the home of a friend of my brother’s, and my brother took him in. It was love at first sight. My brother has so many dogs out in the country that I told him in November that if he ever wants to hand him off, I’d love to take him. By March, he was mine.
Your photo prompted my post. They are doppelgängers.
We don’t know how or why our pup was surrendered but she is a sweet dog. Can’t imagine her not being part of our family. I just wish they hadn’t bobed her tail. Poor thing.
Leia. 4 year old Golden/Husky/Samoyed. Adopted from my son whom could not take care of her after graduating college. She is mine now!!
Is that an Aussie? Our puppy will be our first blue merle - I’m just familiar with the tri colors (brown, black, and white).
Yes, she’s a blue merle, but only bicolor (no copper points). Our older girl, whom we lost in January at age 16, was also a blue merle, but she had three colors.
So the dog remains the same😀 She is a heartbreaker.
The first Aussie I encountered belonged to an engineer whom I worked for in the early '90s. He worked out of his home and his dog was the sweetest thing. He was a blue merle. That’s when I decided to get an Aussie some day. But due to availability our first two were tri colors. I don’t think our puppy has any copper but I will check. Ugh, I’m so excited I can’t concentrate on work.
