Both myself and several others that I’ve talked to, from a bunch of different schools, noticed that on our portals it says extra academic work was uploaded (under the supplementary materials section), even though none of us ever uploaded anything. Everyone has the same time-stamp: November 23rd at 3:43 AM. I thought it might be our midyear grades, but some people from schools that don’t send quarter 1 grades also have it on their portals. (Also, if it were our grades, it’d be odd that everyone has the exact same timestamp.) I’ve also encountered people who DON’T have it on their portals, and there doesn’t seem to be any regular pattern determining who has it and who doesn’t. What could this possibly be? I tried calling, but the office is closed for Thanksgiving until Monday.
I’m from the same school as the OP and I also have the exact same “extra academic work” with the same timestamp although I did not submit anything.
@theorydebaeter @Iamsleepdeprived - did you have any transcripts other than one high school - like summer college credit etc?
@MedSciBud Nope.
@MedSciBud I’m currently enrolled in a Harvard Extension School course but there isn’t a transcript avaliable yet so I don’t know why something from HES would be submitted
When I saw “academic work submitted” on my portal, I reached out to the fileroom but they could not give me any specific. In my case, I think it is the SSP transcript. If you guys have not requested anything to be sent, I am not sure what else it could be. Are you sure you did not submit or request anything extra? Perhaps you submitted SAT and ACT scores and one of them shows as “extra”? Perhaps you requested an additional recommendation?
In any case, I wouldn’t worry about it. But if it continues to bother you, send them an email from the portal. They are usually good about responding within a couple of days - though the response might be very generic!
My son also got the same timestamp for academic work he did not submit. Could it be an interviewer’s report?
