italian or french

which language should i take? which will help me improve my english, and which one is harder?

French is more difficult in pronunciation and grammar; any Romance language will help you improve your Enlgish as long as you take it.

French
Easiest language in my opinion.
Doesn't have stem-changing verbs.
Only has one form of the verb "to be"
Sweet.

Easier than Spanish, I'd say - but I don't know about Italian.
French is the oft used international language : 3

any more opinions?

french, its just used by more ppl, esp. in science and business

French seems more useful, because more people speak it. Plus, it's the language of peace!

how about Chinese, it will get you a job.

Spanish is more useful than french and italian combined.

even though french pronunciation is drastically different from english, french is technicially much more closely related to english than any other european language. Remember, middle english and modern english was formed after the french invaded England (in 1066 or something?).

i know that french would be more useful but i want to know which would be harder to learn and why?

French might be a bit easier because more words will be familiar from similar words in English--but there's not a big difference in level of difficulty.

Which culture do you find more appealing? Which country would you like to visit ? Finding a hook that makes you desire to learn the language is what makes it easier in the long run?

What can I say? French rocks. Haha sorry for being so helpful.

I don't speak Italian, so I can't speak for it, but I can tell you that you're much more likely to meet people who speak French...unless the high school you go to has a lot more Italian students than French students.
