My daughter has been accepted at Ithaca acting and Drew theater has given her a full scholarship. But I know her heart is hoping for De Paul acceptance. Any experiences or advice? Any comments about Ithaca and Drew theater programs?? Thanks!!!

Has she visited both options? Seen shows there? One is a highly structured and competitive BFA program with strong training and fantastic connections to professional theater. The other is a BA in an attractive small college setting and is a liberal-arts program with a very different type of curriculum. I think she would find the two school cultures and campuses to be quite different also.
As a parent, I’ve watched my oldest go through a great BA theater program (at Kenyon) and my youngest in a highly structured BFA (Otterbein, which he chose over Ithaca, but he liked IC a lot). Neither kid would have thrived in the other’s school. If your daughter loved DePaul, it sounds like she is more a BFA type for sure, but I hope she can visit both programs, have a chance to see a class and talk to students, and feel confident that she is choosing the right place for the next four years. Please post when she decides!
