At the L.A. regional audition for Ithaca they told us that their ideal "yield"
is 6 girls and 6 boys. They actually send out acceptances to double that amount, knowing that some won't accept their offer. Therefore, I don't
believe they would have a wait list.

Oh well, I guess my theory was bogus. I thought they said they were trying to yield a class of 20...

I spoke to them today. They had my d's results and said to expect them the end of the week or beginning of next week...she auditioned on Feb. 18. They also said they are trying to send all of notices out this week....hope that helps. Good luck to all!

I just got mine today! I was accepted as BA in Drama major! Good luck everyone!

Desperatescholar- where do you live? East Coast? West Coast? Just want to get an idea about when we might expect to hear.

Thansk

Hey,
I live in Massachusetts.

thanks...we will probably have to wait a few days then.

We live in California, and as I posted before, my D received her acceptance to MT on March 18. No way to figure this all out logically!

My letter finally came. I didn't get in.

My D auditioned March 4, NYC . One of about 50. She didn't get in. No surprise.

My D didn't get in either. I am relieved to have answers from all the schools now. My D is waitlisted at Emerson and Wagner (for the program- accepted into the school academically) and she has some hard thinking to do in the next few days.

I know a student who is still waiting to hear something from IC. It sounds as if they send the letters out in batches. Can one read anything into the fact that this young lady has not heard a peep yet?

Mt D is still waiting to hear also. No idea how this is working. On myithaca it shows that everything was completed on March 30th.

My S has not heard yet either, so we're assuming it's a no.

Lizbennett, why does not hearing yet make you assume the answer is a no. I am not asking this facetiously. I really want to know.

Hi notmama, here is my (possibly faulty) logic: They must know that the vast majority of schools have sent their decision notifications out. I would think that if they were really interested in a student, they wouldn't want to run the risk that the student will accept another offer. These schools all want deposits no later than May 1, which means you need to mail by 4/25 or so to be safe. Ithaca says we won't hear from them until next week. Do you think that's cutting it close? Maybe my expectations are unrealistic. Thoughts from anyone?

My S has already received follow-up phone calls and/or letters/e-mails from each director where he's been accepted, asking if they can do anything else to help him decide if their school is the right fit, answer any questions, etc. I think it speaks well of them to take a personal interest in him. One even sent him detailed feedback on his audition.

Believe me, this is nothing against Ithaca's program. I think they're top-notch, and it's a beautiful school. My S would be honored to seriously consider them. I've told him to hang in there a little longer, but . . .

Lizbennett, it sounds as if your S has some serious interest from other programs, which is fantastic. And what you say about Ithaca (and other schools that haven't sent out their letters) makes sense. However, from what I can ascertain, this process is not always sensible! Maybe not hearing doesn't mean a negative outcome. Please keep us posted. Your S is obviously very talented. Congrats on his successes!

Thanks for your good wishes, notmamarose. He is thrilled with his choices and feels very fortunate to have good programs from which to choose. Will keep you posted on the final decision. Best wishes to you and your D as you embark upon this crazy process!

Still haven't heard either. Just called and they said they are performing the final review of my portfolio... whatever that means!

I got my letter today, postmarked March 31, and I was rejected. Oh well, I still have some other choices and I still haven't heard from hartt. Urgh
