I'm a BIG fan of astronomy.therefore,I'm a member of an astronomy club .and i have a membership of an organization that i can use the the online telescope to see the stars online.(I also use a ''real'' telescope of course)

Since it's not really a ''physical'' activity,do you think it's considered as an EC which shows my passion in astronomy?

It’s great that you’re so passionate about astronomy! I would say that it counts as an EC - maybe not as a top one, but a good one to put on the application nonetheless.

If by a “physical” activity you mean athletics, of course an EC can be something that’s not physical. I can think of dozens of examples, and yours would be one of them.

It’s definitely an EC, but I personally don’t find it “really weird.” Have you personally done anything with astronomy that colleges may find intriguing, or do you just stargaze from your computer screen?

^I’m definitely going to major in molecular Bio.(because i want to do genetic engineering in the future). However,it is definitely possible that i might also major in astronomy.(doule major,or minor)

But i heard that it is not that important to let my college know what major i’m going to apply, right?because most of the time students will change their decision anyway…
and i’m going to apply to college of art and science anyway…

If you can get lucky enough to spot a comet and have it named after you, that would be awesome. Not exactly sure how you go about doing that, but…

yes, you can do that…it will definitely look nice, but if you are looking at top-tier schools, they may have wanted you to do something with your passion.

And PS, it’s definitely not impossible, but it’s true that it probably won’t happen in the near future.
