should i continue my EC ? :(

i have a hobby which im going to use it as my EC.however, unfortunately, this hobby that i have is VERY uncommon among the high school students, which means there is never a good opportunity for me to show my passion, like competition, performance, etc. :( the only way that i can do is to only do this EC on my own, like creating a website of my hobby, but i doubt colleges will care.

so,do you think i should continue or give up??? :(

...From your post I have NO idea what your "hobby" is...

Could you be more specific? I guarentee you we won't make fun of you.

If your hobby is making websites, ask the administration at your school if you can fix up their website. You can be the one in charge of changing the news, etc.

Create a technology club? Maybe?

my hobby is to take pictures of the nature and to look the stars with my telescope...... >_<

I bet they'd like to hear about if you talk to other HS students or try and maybe start up a club or something.

Maybe you can send in some pics

^^pictures?i plan on putting my pictures on the website and send my website to them.however, are they going to trust me? >_<

btw,is it really the only way that i can do to show my passion? :(

Both photography and astronomy are well-respected hobbies. As long as you can talk about why you are passionate about them, how they have impacted your life, and can show a depth of knowledge, you should have no problem. Not everything is about getting public recognition-people of character do things because it matters to them. And if you send along a photo portfolio with the shots that you are especially proud of, along with your application that wouldn't hurt your chances either.

I'm sure you could find photography competitions, not only in your area but throughout the nation. And astronomy classes are usually offered at universities.

There are MANY magazines that accept nature photography, you can try to submit to these magazines. In addition there are usually opportunities to sumbit photos for cash prizes for competition or something else. The astronomy thing would be good if you want to research a topic in astronomy there are many summer science camps and research programs out there you just have to look (google it).
But definitely keep this up IF it is something that you enjoy. To me it somewhat sounds as if you may be doing this to get into college and if that is the case then I would discourage it. The college you attend is of little importance to the overall grand scheme of life so only do those ECs that you would do if colleges would never know about it.
But if you want to do it for college, and you keep it up with publications and awards I think that would be an amazing EC.

Not to sound like I'm preaching, but, if you enjoy it do it even if colleges won't see it, or whatever...if you like it, just continue!

You can list it under your activities if you'd like. You can write essays about your hobby. If you're worried about filing out the EC section, take on volunteer work or other activities as well! Don't just give up if you enjoy it.

Keep it if you love it.
Not everything should be done for college.

lol hahahha srry nice hobby-
