Don't worry about not getting them this weekend, the mail just probably took a little longer to get to the midwest. You could very well get acceptance letters on Monday or even Tuesday.:)

(also, when I was researching mailing dates I saw that quite a few people didn't get them until the 16th-18th, so don't worry, though I know that's easier said than done)

The regular mail arrived, and I was really disappointed. My mom went out to run an errand, and about 30 minutes later she came back and noticed that the package was in our mailbox! I've heard on here that some people received their acceptances with the regular mail, but I guess it just depends. I don't think there's an rhyme or reason to that.

That said, good luck to you, nyc223, and to everyone! Like fhg pointed out, the mail service is neither consistent nor particularly reliable. I read on last year's thread that a girl got her acceptance letter realllllly late, so there could be a number of reasons why your letters haven't arrived yet. The best to you all...

Ya we get them in the spring like after may 1st when you give in your deposit
but if you did columbia high school programs you have one but i dont think they work anymore

When my daughter was an incoming first year, her class received their Columbia e-mail addresses in the summer. I remember because at that time the only way to join Facebook was if you had a college e-mail address and all her friends had theirs already and she did not. Things might have changed, though. This was four years ago...

Yay! My D just found out she got in!!!! She is sooooo excited; I bet tonight will be the first night she's slept in a week!

Rose, just be sure to send them anything and everything new and outstanding you do, keep that file updated and keep contacting them with good news and additions so they know how interested you are. I'm sure its going to work out for you :)

Rose: my daughter was deferred and admitted. I don't know if this helped, but she contacted a professor in the department she wanted to study in. He was very encouraging.
