I am assuming gold wings Hornet?

actually yes. I called my mom today to inquire as to my grandfather's service. He ended up in tanks, but was in the Army Air Corps for 2 years with his wings. SOOO, I was excited to find out I do get gold ones! yay!

Now, if anyone asks, I get to brag about my grandpa, he is friggin' awesome! :)

I know what you mean CAND, Its crazy to think I only have four more months of being a "civilian"/normal.Also that I'll be 18 and technically a full fledged adult. WOW. seems like i just tried out for the frosh football team.lol. CRAZY. Well thats life. AFA here I come. :0

So you get special wings if you have Air Force veteran relatives? Does the Royal Canadian Air Force count? Haha, yes my grandfather is a Canadian... And yes, they do have an Air Force. :P

I'm pretty sure it has to be service in U.S. military...but it couldn't hurt to ask. ;)

I know the official quals are:
a parent with 20 or more years in the service
a deceased parent who was in the service
you are a direct descendant of someone who served in the Army Air Corps.

I don't think Canadian counts, but you will be able to ask and find out before that. Which, definitely won't be for over a year. ;) Man that feels good thinking 2010 is almost out of its misery!

Haha, I was totally kidding, guys. Just poking fun at the Canadians because I can. :) And congratulations, hornetguy!

34 days...its getting closer.

Loose Hawgs! lmao.

A cadet from '09 related the recognition experience to us. Said it was a very challenging time. The end was worth it though. The cadet arrived in the room to find a pressed clean uniform, and was called to the end of the hall to recieve the P&W. Keep your eyes on the prize.

Just a word of advice, it's fine to be rarin' to go right now but during basic and all that, I would reccomend toning it down a little. The overzealous people often times have the hardest time here do to incorrect preconceived notions and also extra attention that it attracts. Don't get me wrong, it's all good now to have enthusiasm and deffinantly carry it with you through basic and into the school year, but also deffinantly try to blend in.

Hey TF! I'm taking Benjo6 and friend skiing this weekend at Keystone, ASSUMING you guys won't be restricted. I'll keep an eye out for you!!

O you said skiing. How I pine for it! I missed my trip to Keystone this last weekend, can't go this weekend, so I have to wait till next weekend to get back up! I was on a role too! Like 5 weekends in a row skiing. Makes me very sad.

Wow it's been forever since I've been on this thing... time seriously flies. I remember how I had SO many questions about this place last summer and now I'm freakin here. Who's ready for some prop and wings, baby? Anyway..

You guys have no idea what's coming..

Get fit. Stay positive. Don't give up.
