It's happened, but I've rarely felt this horrible in my life

I feel so terrible guys. I’m pretty sure this school isn’t lenient about fin aid deadlines. It was definitely a reach school for me and I still got in. I submitted my FAFSA a long time ago but i submitted my css after the deadline. I’m really afraid that I’m not going to be able to afford to go here now. Ugh I feel so TERRIBLE

I’m wondering if I’ll be shown mercy because I handed in the FAFSA on time :o3

Have you tried calling the FA office and asking what can be done at this date?

First of all, thanks for responding. And no, I didn’t realize how severe the situation was until a few hours ago.

We can speculate. They can give you a definite answer, if anyone can. Call them tomorrow.

Do they require the CSS? I thought only private u’s required them. I don’t have a senior yet. If all we want for aid is access to a student loan do we still have to file the CSS?

I mean if you’re looking for a FEDERAL loan, you’re good. I need institution money as well though, and for that I has to send in the css.

UVa is usually strict about financial aid deadlines, but it is worth a try. If you have a good reason for the delay, it may help.

For all those who were wondering, I emailed them and they said I can still get a reduced award because I sent in my css profile between march 1 and april 1. @Charliesch‌ @FCCDAD thank you

I’m glad it is working out for you. Everyone should be very careful with the U.'s financial aid deadline each year. Start getting information together early, because undoubtedly there will be some bit of information that will not be easy to find, or there will be some last minute technological glitch in getting the information. If you run up against the deadline, and only have it 90% complete, estimate the other 10%, submit it, and then send a revision a little bit later.
