I volunteer in an elementary school on Fridays, and lately the new "cool thing" to do at snacktime is this:

YouTube - How To Smoke Smarties

This just makes me wonder. People as young as SIX are simulating illegal activities like this. It's sick and society needs to stop it.

Every time I see one of the kids doing it and all the others laughing, I seriously just want to leave.

What has this world come to?

I personally don’t find it that offensive. I’m not interested in starting a huge debate with you, but I find it amusing that something as innocent as candy can be used to simulate harmful activities such as smoking. There are many other possible reasons that they laugh at a kid pretending to smoke. Are you sure that they’re INTERESTED in smoking or simply amused by the effect that powdered candy makes?

Come to? Candy cigarettes have been around for years. They got rid of them so the kids are making they’re own. How the frig is this harmful? Even in the video you posted the kid makes it blatantly clear that he does not like smoking.

Smoking smarties was all the rage at my school at one point in time. It just looks stupid and is kind of childish if you ask me.

I wouldn’t wanna see 1st graders doing it though.

i pretended smoking when i was a kid with pockey sticks. i especially loved seeing my breath in the cold air. i don’t smoke. it doesn’t exactly mean kids will grow up smoking.
