<p>Check out post #20 on this thread - just a reminder that excellent stats don't tell the whole story at very competitive schools. And - that those of us giving advice and guessing 'chances' are doing so on very limited information!</p>

Hah - wrong on the location (and no, not Solon, either). I'm the one that has had to care for elderly parents at home, so I didn't get to see the competitions very often.</p>

<p>Wow... that was an eye-opener. Just goes to show that you can never guess what the adcoms will think about anyone's application, including your own.</p>

its Xiggi's post #20 - and the point is that its admissions factors that are not 'stats', at least in the CC sense. </p>

it's more than a bit a black box, for sure. The good news for you students who are thinking about this now is that will have the time to develop good and thoughtful applications, and to submit them to a carefully considered list of schools that you are enthusiastic about.</p>
