It's Not True

I just called the Williams office of admission, and I directly asked someone if what the Williams Record said was true (about having the letters sent out as much as a week early)---and she said it wasn't and was surprised to hear that such a thing was said in the article.

They say they are still expecting to mail them out on the 15th via First Class (regular) mail.

Oh well, about another week to go! :-(

Thanks for calling, although the news kind of sucks. Oh well.. at least I can go on my trip to NYC this Saturday, as planned, without being preoccupied over the contents of that day's mail. Soooo.. that means about 8-9 more days of waiting.

Good luck to everyone else applying ED, both to survive the wait, and for positive decisions! :)

lsjAFKL;JAL;GHKAJKJK;LDJGLKAJKLEJGASJj:!!!!!! MORE WAIT??

Oh my gosh... That is so annoying! Grrrr... It's on their own website, too. I don't understand why the admissions interviewee would just make that up, but man that stinks.........

That means I just wasted a week of being anxious before the even real week. So I guess I get two weeks of being unproductive. Ah!

reliable sources say they will mail december 13th

:-) - after that last "reliable source" I'm a little wairy...who'd you hear that from?

Good luck williams people (that means you KATAKAT)

hahah i love you skeptical sr...u rock MY socks

Katatat,

I am curious about this reliable source also? Pretty please fill us in more. Do they send the decisions out first class then? If so it looks like I'll have to wait until the 16th. It stinks because now I think I need to get working on my other apps if we are going to find out so late. Oh well.

Also, welcome to the group SkepticalSeniorNYC. Are you applying to Williams, too? If so good luck!

Well, talk to you guys later!

Leonesa,

No, I'm not applying to Williams. I don't like being too far from cities and it's in the boonies. Great school though and best of luck to you all. Katatat and I are friends in real life (not CC) so I like to post little encouraging messages.

4 of my friends are applying to Williams early. Tense time? yeaaa...
Anyways, good luck to all of you, I hope you don't mind if I drop in once in awhile. I'm applying early to Wellesley and I get my letter on Sat. or Mon so keep your fingers crossed for me.

PS. I think you guys should ask for LL Bean gift certificates for graduations presents. Those or a pair of birkenstocks (or was that Middlebury...)?

Nonetheless, good luck with Wellesly and stop by whenever you want to.

It's funny though because I could never imagine any of my friends on here. It's the kind of thing I just started doing that I don't really care for people to know about. Anyway...night all!

good luck at Wellesley!!!!!!

my god, that was my thirteenth post ^^ so im posting another one "just in case" all that superstition turns out to be true :-)

maybe its an omen, because my 14th post on CC is the 13th post in the thread!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhh ....

damn 60 second rule

Hey..anyone seen the columbian board ?(except armandolean, of course...I wanted to post from Williams Board...you beat me to it!)

Its funny how this board will change that way too in about a week.

I can't help but speak up at this point in time...lurking is just too nerve wrecking.
Looking at the Columbia and Dartmouth board makes me even more nervous. AHHHHHHHHH....This is a crazy time.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

Good luck to everyone who applied early to Williams or elsewhere. Williams is planning on mailing out decision letters "by December 15th" and I believe they are mailed priority mail.

So if the decisions are mailed on December 15th, and the estimated time of delivery is two days... does that mean I'll find out on the 16th or the 17th? In other words, does the 15th, the day that the decision is mailed out, count as a day? Sorry for the stupidity of this question... I'm just very anxious.

As far as if they are mailed priority mail or not, the admissions clerk said they're not--they go via first class (or so she says).

And about counting the days--I too was confused. Look at it this way: the fastest something could poosibly get to its destination in is 1 day (nothing gets delivered in 0 days), so 15 -> 16 is (1) day and 16 -> 17 is (2) days. Therefore it would be reasonable to expect it on the 17th. Californians/etc should expect it to take (3) days -> meaning the 18th.

Greeeat.. the 17th is a Friday. There's nothing like rejection to start off a wonderful weekend!
