Is it Canada's McGill? If so, I heard it's pretty good.

@Long: haha, w/o SAT and supp essays? :D You already took the SAT and it's good, if I'm not mistaken :) And I can name several supp essays schools in your list :P

Heard that Williams is extremely tough this year. I know a kid applying ED Willy. His stats look great, his essay is great, too (but somehow, I don't like it that much). He's soccer team captain at his HS and they're the champion this year. He got a phone call from Willy's soccer coach but still knows nothing for sure yet. Of course Willy's always been tough, but this year hmm...

Good luck babies j/k. I'll say good luck to you every day until ED notification lol

@Ly: pls give me some :D (These are the schools that my brother recommended)
My SAT is bad, BTW :(
I got Bowdoin - Hamilton - Bates - Conncoll in my list (w/o SAT but with supp) :(

BTW, sis Ly, you're discouraging me by mentioning that kid :( Is he a Vnmese ?

@Long: no no no no. i'm so sorry. he's not Vnmese. don't worry.
I didn't apply to any supp essay schools last year b/c for me, writing is a disaster. well, i did apply to Pton which requires 3 essays. but 2 of them are 250-word and i got kicked out anyway :D

VL, there are 7 schools u n I are both applying to :D

Not just you and I, many more Vnmese students are :) Besides, I still have some "schools that a few apply but offer OK aid" (according to my brother)
@sis Ly: Could you be more specific :D (naming some of them for example)

uhm.. If I just have OK grades and OK test scores but a lot of awards, extracurricular activities and good recommendations (let's assume the essay is great too)
how much of a chance do I have for top tier schools?

You're in. What else can I say? Besides, I guess that's what you wanna hear;)

@Giang: gotta post your stats here :D

@Long: don't really see what you mean. From your list, these schools had supp essay last year: colgate, willy(?), bates, oberlin, colby.

do u guys spend lots of time here? i remember last year, i checked this board like crazy. i only went to VA when almost everything had been settled.

williams has no supp essays :D

@Ly: I mean your college list last year :D I check CC, VA and HAO about twice a day :)

Viet Long, did you hear from your Williams yet?

@Long: Grinnell, Sewanee, Carleton I think :)

Carleton has A LOT OF short answers :( Grinnell has supp essays, too :(

Grinnell has supp essay? really? what's the topic?
Well, I don't mind short answers. essay is a whole lot difference.

Sorry, no supp but a lot of short answers just like Carleton
